Durango Open Studio Tour
Location: Artist studios throughout the greater Durango area (self-guided)
Held each October, the Durango Open Studio Tour is a free, self-guided tour that opens the doors of dozens of working artist studios across the greater Durango area, from downtown lofts to rural barns and mountain workshops. Visitors can watch artists at work, purchase pieces directly, and explore techniques ranging from painting and pottery to woodworking and fiber arts.
Because the tour spans multiple days and draws visitors who plan a full weekend around it, it's a useful shoulder-season complement to the Autumn Arts Festival earlier in the month. Member properties should note that Open Studio Tour visitors often combine their stay with fall color viewing along the Million Dollar Highway and other scenic drives.
